Bergen School of Architecture (BAS) is a private and academically independent Norwegian school of architecture founded in 1986. It offers two master’s degree programs: Master of Architecture and Master of Architecture with specialization in Landscape, which are accredited by the European Union. During the course, students go on a number of long field trips on the west coast of Norway and other parts of the world. BAS is protected by the National Norwegian Law of Alternative Private Education and receives much of its financial support from the Norwegian government. The school follows a holistic approach for sustainable development that focuses on landscape and climate as the basis for the architecture.
