Created as the National Institute for Higher Education in Dublin in 1975, Dublin City University (DCU) is an Irish public university. It has a particularly strong research record: it is sometimes described as a research-led university, and has regularly been recorded as bringing in more research income per members of faculty, or indeed as a percentage of total income, than any other university in Ireland. Students can count on more than 140 clubs and societies representing a wide range of interests such as culture, computer games, sport, and academic interests. DCU ranks 439th in the QS World University Rankings and 61st in the the world’s top universities under 50 years of age ranking made by QS.
