NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) is the School of Information Management of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. It was created in 1989 in response to the scarcity of senior management specialists in information management, and to the growing need to use new information technologies. It counts more than 1.700 students. NOVA IMS is striving to increase the number of quality researchers, associated and permanent, in its research center. It is also trying to increase the participation of companies in the department’s life through more partnerships. Not only partnerships with companies are important to NOVA IMS, also academic ones are a core component of the faculty, especially within the European Union and Portuguese-speaking countries.
