Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SpbPU) is a major Russian technical university located in Saint Petersburg. Founded in 1899, it is considered to be one of the top research facilities in the Russian Federation and CIS member states, and a leading educational facility in the field of applied physics and mathematics, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace engineering and other academic disciplines. SPbPU houses one of the country’s most advanced research labs in hydro-aerodynamics. The university’s alumni include: famous Nobel Prize winners, prominent nuclear physicists and atomic weapon designers, and world-class aircraft designers and aerospace engineers.
