The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is a public research university located, as the name suggests, in Hong Kong. Founded in 1937 as a “Government Trade School”, it was the first institution to provide technical education in the municipality. It has an urban campus that is the alma mater of 26000 students from all over the globe. English is the main language of instruction, and internationalization is sought strongly. With a plethora of 160-degree programs, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is a staple in the municipality’s education. Extra-curricular activities are encouraged, and several sports teams are recognized by the university, such as the basketball, tennis, or swimming ones.
