Founded in 1956, Catholic University of Córdoba is a non-profit private university, the oldest one in Argentina. It is a Jesuit institution that tries, without discriminating other beliefs, to convey its values through its initiatives, aimed at helping students, and society in general, in developing positive values and attitude. For example, by encouraging its members to volunteer in various socially responsible activities. Nevertheless, knowledge at UCC is applied in an interdisciplinary way to various social problems, promoting social awareness and a sense of solidarity, and acknowledging responsibility for the most vulnerable.
Its range of offered subjects is pretty wide, spanning from Accounting & Finance to Veterinary Science. Teaching and research activities are spread over 3 campuses, all in the city of Cordoba. Catholic University of Córdoba only counts 387 international students among its 11,000 students.
International rankings does not seem very favorable to the Argentinian institution, with just a remarkable mention among the best 1400 world universities in the world by QS World University Rankings. However, Eduniversal grants 4 palmes of excellence to UCC, a good international recognition for its teaching and research quality in the business field.
Its list of academic partners is quite solid, and include: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, University of Essex, University of Malaga. Spanish is the main language of instruction at UCC, hence international applicants should consider this destination only if they possess a good level of Spanish proficiency. Acceptance rate is estimated to be at 65%.
If you aim at a truly Argentinian institution, with strong Catholic, but not discriminant, values, Catholic University of Córdoba is the way to go.
