Founded in 1991, University of Ostrava is a young Czech public university, the youngest in the city of Ostrava. It counts nearly 9.000 students spread over six faculties. Despite its young age, the university is included in the highly relevant world universities rankings made by QS and Times Higher Education. The small size of the University of Ostrava and its relative youth allows for a strongly individual approach to their students and flexible reactions to the needs of a modern society and labour market, while enabling favourable conditions for internationalist cooperation and a friendly environment for foreign academics and students.
