The University of Oulu was founded in 1958 and, with 13.000 students, is now one of the largest universities in Finland. It has about 50 bilateral agreements with partner universities around the world and it aims to promote mobility for its students by taking part in a number of international exchange programmes, such as: Erasmus Programme, Nordplus, FIRST, ISEP and International to International ISEP, UNC-EP, north2north, North-South-South. The University of Oulu is often ranked as one of the best universities in Finland and in the top 400 worldwide by QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education World University Rankings and Academic Ranking of World Universities.
