Established in 1361, the University of Pavia is one of the oldest universities in the world. It was the sole university in Lombardy until the end of the 19th century. It doesn’t have a main campus: its buildings and facilities are scattered around the city, earning the city of Pavia its title “a city campus”. The university welcomes more than 20.000 students coming from Italy and all over the world. University of Pavia is a member of the COIMBRA Group and of the European University Association. It ranks among the top 35 universities in the world in the Classics & Ancient History category and in the top 200 in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Linguistics according to QS World University Rankings.
