University of Tartu

Founded in 1632, the University of Tartu (UT) is the largest and most prestigious university in Estonia and one of the most respectable centres of education and research in Central and Eastern Europe. UT is famous for its excellence in research and its research-based education: it holds a place in the top 1% of the world’s most cited universities and scientific institutions in various fields and 54 of its scientists belong to the top 1% of most cited scientists in the world. Also UT’s reputation is excellent: it is ranked within the top 1% of universities in the world by both Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings.
