Established in 1897, Victoria University of Wellington is a public university located in Wellington, New Zealand. It is named after Queen Victoria, as 1897 was the 60th anniversary of her coronation. The university boasts a good number of internationally recognised academics and has excellent facilities for students, including a purpose built building on the Kelburn campus dedicated to student study spaces, retail and social areas.
