Waseda University (Research only)

Waseda University is a Japanese private research university founded in 1882. It consistently ranks among the most academically selective and prestigious universities in Japanese and international university rankings. Ranked 189th in the QS World University Rankings, Waseda University is often ranked alongside Keio University, its rival, as the best private university in Japan. The institution is among the top type of the select Japanese universities assigned additional funding under the MEXT’s Top Global University Project to enhance Japan’s global educational competitiveness. It has graduated many notable alumni, including seven Prime Ministers of Japan and numerous important personalities that had shaped the history of Japan and of the entire world. Its library is collectively one of the largest libraries in Japan, and currently holds some 4,5 million volumes and 46.000 serials.
