West University of Timișoara (UVT) is a public Romanian university. Established in 1962, it is classified as a research and education university by the Romanian Ministry of Education. UVT is one of the five members of the “Universitaria Consortium”, the group of elite Romanian universities. The university owns an extensive body of 17 amphitheatres, 25 classrooms and 74 seminar rooms and laboratories. UVT is ranked in both the QS and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, two of the most notable academic rankings in the world. West University of Timişoara is part of a very multicultural and dynamic city that offers numerous options for learning, even beyond academic life, with the highest internet speed in the world and that is going to be a future European Capital of Culture in 2021.
