Originally established in 1947 as a private business school, and then nationalized in 1954 under the name “Wyższa Szkoła Ekonomiczna”, Wroclaw University of Economics and Business is now a public Polish university. It is an important center of science and research, and its activities are aimed at maintaining and strengthening the position of the university on a regional, national, and international level, improving its competitive advantage, and shaping its image of a modern institution, open and friendly to its employees, students, and the environment. Its mission is to be a leading center of creative thought and economic education.
