York University

With approximately 55.000 students, York University is Canada’s third-largest university. Its alumni include some of the most important figures of the Canadian economy. Over the last twenty years, York has become a centre for labour strife with several faculty and other strikes occurring, including the longest university strike in Canadian history in 2018. York University is an internationally recognized research university: their 11 faculties and 25 research centres have partnerships with 200+ leading universities worldwide. For example, the university houses Canada’s oldest film school, a well renown Law School and a School of Business ranked first in the country by The Economist.
