Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a public research university in Clear Water Bay, Hong Kong. HKUST was born in the ‘90s, when the leaders of Hong Kong saw a need to build a new, research-focused university to support the city’s future ambitions. Despite being very young, the university performs extremely well in rankings: it is positioned as 1st in the World’s Top 350 Young Universities 2020 by Times Higher Education and 27th in the QS World Universities Ranking 2021. Also, the university holds excellent results when it comes to employability of its graduates, with a 10th place in the world according to the Global University Employability Ranking of 2019.
