The University of Technology of Troyes (UTT) is a public French university, part of the Academy of Reims. It was founded in 1994 and inaugurated by Jacques Chirac. One of the first chairmans of the university had been Thierry Breton, honorary Chairman of both Thomson and France Telecom, and former finance Minister from France. UTT is a member of the European University Association (EUA) and one of the eight members of the European University of Technology (EUt+) initiative. The university is also part of a network of three universities of technology founded by the University of Technology of Compiègne. Inspired by the University of Pennsylvania, these three universities are a French mixture between the universities of the country and its schools of engineers (Grande École).
