Referral Program — Terms and Conditions
These Referral Program Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you (“Participant”) and wearefreemovers GmbH (“we”, “us”). By taking part in the Referral Program, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions
Referrer — a Participant who holds an active wearefreemovers account and shares a Referral Identifier generated in the Participant Portal. A Referrer does not need to have an Eligible Booking.
Referred Student — an individual who meets all requirements in §4 and completes an Eligible Booking.
Eligible Booking — a confirmed mobility semester or other short-term academic experience booked through wearefreemovers in respect of which we have actually received, in cleared funds, our full commission from the host institution.
Referral Identifier — the unique referral link, code or other mechanism that we provide through the Participant Portal.
Referral Bonus — the monetary reward described in §5.
Referral-Enabled Destination — a destination that is flagged as eligible for the Referral Programme on the Platform.
Confirmation Deposit — the initial payment you make to secure your booking.
Platform — the website www.wearefreemovers.com.
Participant Portal — the secure area of the Platform where you manage your booking and referral details.
2. Overview of the Program
By sharing a Referral Identifier, a Referrer can earn Referral Bonuses when Referred Students make an Eligible Booking. A Referred Student can also earn a separate bonus. The Programme applies only to destinations labelled “Referral-Enabled” on our Platform. Referral Bonuses may be combined with other active promotions (e.g., Cashback or Go Together) provided the destination is flagged as eligible for each promotion.
3. Eligibility to be a Referrer
You qualify as a “Referrer” once you:
- have created a wearefreemovers account and logged in to the Participant Portal; and
- have retrieved your personal Referral Identifier from the Portal.
Your Referrer status may be suspended or revoked if you breach these Terms, the Terms of Use, or engage in any conduct listed in § 6. Every Referral Bonus remains pending until the conditions in § 7 are met.
4. Eligibility of a Referred Student
A student qualifies as a Referred Student only if they:
- enter the Referrer’s Referral Identifier during the application/booking process. If they forget, they may contact us within ten (10) calendar days after paying their Confirmation Deposit; late requests are not accepted;
- book a destination explicitly labelled “Referral‑Enabled” on our Platform; and
- complete their semester in accordance with the host institution’s rules so that we receive our commission.
5. Referral Bonus Amounts and Annual Cap
The exact amounts payable to the Referrer and to the Referred Student are displayed on each Referral-Enabled Destination page of the Platform and are locked in once the Referrer and Referred Student have satisfied all eligibility conditions, respectively in § 3 and § 4.
The total Referral Bonuses a Referrer may earn in a calendar year are subject to the aggregate cap shown in the Participant Portal.
All Bonus amounts remain subject to the payment conditions in § 7; no higher amount will be paid.
6. Prohibited Conduct
Self‑referrals, multiple accounts for the same individual, referrals generated through paid advertisements, spam, coupon sites, misleading claims, falsified documents or any violation of our Terms of Use will void the Referral Bonus. We may suspend, withhold or claw back any Bonus that was paid or credited in error or obtained through misuse.
7. Payment of Referral Bonuses
Referral Bonuses become payable only after we have received, in cleared funds, the commission for the Referred Student’s Eligible Booking from the host institution. We will pay the Bonus within thirty (30) calendar days of that receipt (or such longer period as is reasonably necessary if the commission is delayed for reasons outside our control), using the payment method you have recorded in the Participant Portal (or another mutually agreed method). If we do not receive the commission in whole or in part, the related Referral Bonus will be reduced proportionally or cancelled.
8. Taxes
Referral Bonuses constitute marketing rebates. We issue no tax certificates. Participants are responsible for any reporting or tax obligations that may arise under their local laws.
9. Program Modification and Termination
The Program is discretionary. We may amend, suspend or terminate the Program at any time by posting an updated version of these Terms on our website. Material changes will take effect 14 days after we post them, unless a shorter period is required to comply with law or prevent abuse. Bonuses that became payable prior to the effective date of the change will still be honoured in accordance with §7.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability under this Program shall not exceed the total Referral Bonuses payable to you under these Terms. We shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by substantive Swiss law, to the exclusion of its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the ordinary courts at the registered seat of Wearefreemovers GmbH (presently Baar, Canton Zug, Switzerland), unless mandatory consumer-jurisdiction provisions grant you the right to sue or be sued elsewhere.
