Accommodation

At Deakin University, students can opt for modern, flexible on-campus accommodation through Deakin Res — whether a quiet studio or a social shared apartment. Located right on or near campus, these residences offer secure, furnished living with utilities included, support services, and a vibrant community feel designed to help you make the most of your university experience.

Social and extracurricular activities

We encourage all of our students to join DUSA. The Deakin University Student Association.
It offers an energetic and inclusive mix of social activities, events and short-courses designed for students. From vibrant “come and try” sports and free food truck pop‐ups, to online trivia nights and skill-building workshops, there’s something for everyone at every campus.

Visa and immigration

All students need to apply for Student Visa to study in Australia.
You apply online via the Department of Home Affairs’ “ImmiAccount” system once you’ve received your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). The base application fee is AUD $2,000 for most applicants from 1 July 2025, with some exceptions.
Be sure to apply well in advance and meet conditions like health insurance and course progress.
