Life in

Dublin

Accommodation

As a free mover at Dublin Business School, you have three main accommodation options:

Student Residences:
Dublin has a number of high quality residences purposely built for students. Each room is en-suite (some twins available), with plenty of storage space and room for study. The shared kitchens and living space are ready to move into, and the residences have excellent gyms, study and communal spaces. Prices start at €270-450 per week and include utilities and WIFI.

Landlords in Private Accommodation:
This is the most common form of renting in Dublin. You can either rent a whole property or a single room. Please exercise caution and inspect the property in-person before paying any deposit. We recommend using Spotahome.com, properties are flagged as checked, providing peace of mind when doing your search with this site.

Homestay:
DBS are delighted to recommend International Student Accommodation (ISA) to provide an option (subject to availability) to stay with a host family for our students. ISA is the largest independent provider of host families in Ireland. All families are inspected and Garda (Police) vetted. Living with a host family is a great way to meet Irish people and immerse yourself in Irish life. It allows you to settle into Dublin and search for your own room once you arrive in the city. Homestay will be based on availability and prices start at €250 per week for a single room, half board. You will also need to factor in approx. €25 per week to commute to college. Host families are located in the suburbs of Dublin with good transport links to the City Centre.

Social and extracurricular activities

Dublin is our campus, it is a historic, vibrant and beautiful city, where there is always something going on. DBS will provide an outstanding Student Experience and enable strong academic outcomes. We promote a community and culture that is focused on your well-being and success.

  • 60+ student societies and sports clubs
  • 150+ events per semester

Work opportunities

European students enjoy the freedom to work while completing their degrees in Ireland. To ensure your academic success always comes first, we advise balancing part-time work during term time with full-time hours during university holidays. Financially, studying here is highly rewarding: Ireland offers one of the highest minimum wages in Europe at €14.15 per hour, allowing you to comfortably support yourself while gaining valuable experience.

The Careers Hub provides personalized career coaching and mock interviews to refine your job search strategy, alongside a consistent schedule of masterclasses focused on CV building and interview techniques.

Beyond individual coaching, the Hub acts as a vital link to the industry by hosting employer networking events and maintaining a dedicated job board for internships and graduate roles. You also have 24/7 access to a digital library of recorded workshops, templates, and career podcasts. This integrated approach ensures you have the practical tools and professional connections necessary to succeed in today’s competitive job market.

Student experiences

My experience at DBS was absolutely amazing thanks to the incredibly supportive lecturers, the holistic focus on student well-being, and a tight-knit community where the city truly becomes your campus; my biggest advice to new students is to be yourself and get involved in clubs and societies immediately, because it will make your college life a hundred times better.

Emer Brennan

As an international student from Germany who studied General Business and won the Student of the Year award, I found DBS to be an incredibly welcoming environment with fantastic support—whether through fun events organized by the Student Union or open, helpful academic staff—which ultimately provided me with a bunch of opportunities to grow academically, develop personally, and figure out who I want to be in just one year. My biggest advice to new students is to take every chance you are given to network and connect with people—whether that's by going to events, participating in academic competitions, or joining groups like the Consulting Society.
