It is the country’s only fully multi-campus university, with locations in Auckland, Palmerston North, and Wellington, and is also a leader in online education.

Massey offers a wide range of internationally recognized programs across fields such as business, creative arts, science, health, humanities, and agriculture. The university has a strong focus on applied learning and industry-linked research, aiming to address both local and global challenges. Students can benefit from full-semester internships and high-performance training programs for athletes, combining academic study with real-world experience.

Student life at Massey is vibrant and inclusive. A broad range of support services is available to promote academic success, wellbeing, and personal development. Students also enjoy a welcoming campus environment with active clubs and societies that help build friendships and a sense of community.

Each campus has its own unique strengths. The Auckland campus, located on the city’s North Shore, offers a modern and innovative learning environment, with programs in business, psychology, food technology, mathematics, and software engineering. The Manawatū campus in Palmerston North is known for its affordability and strong programs in agriculture, veterinary science, aviation, food science, and sport management. The Wellington campus, situated in the capital’s arts and culture district, is home to New Zealand’s most prestigious School of Design and offers programs in communication, music, fashion, fine arts, and Māori visual arts.

Massey University welcomes Study Abroad students for one or two semesters. Participants can earn credit toward their home degree and choose to include internships or join the Global Student-Athlete program, which combines academic study with professional sports training.

Student experiences

I was expecting to like New Zealand, but I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with it. I also liked the professors at Massey. They are super laid back, understanding, and helpful. Makes learning more easygoing and less stressful.

Jamie Musback

I simply loved the beaches, sea views and the picturesque bays around Wellington. The support I received since arriving at Massey was great.
