Established in 1632 by municipal authorities, the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is a public university located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. With more than 30.000 students, it is the largest university in the Netherlands by enrollment. It is also one of the most research-intensive universities in Europe. UvA is a very prestigious institution: it has produced six Nobel Laureates and five prime ministers of the Netherlands.
