Founded in 1669, the University of Zagreb is the oldest and biggest university in South-Eastern Europe. The institution contributes to over 50% of the annual research output in Croatia and 80% of the scientific productivity of all Croatian universities. The construction of its new Campus “Borongaj” will be the biggest investment made by Croatian education in the last 150 years. The university is included in the most relevant world universities rankings issued by QS, Times Higher Education, U.S. News & World Report Best Global University Ranking and the Center for University World Rankings. As a central and leading institution, its activities aim at the development of personalities and the promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
