Amsterdam University of the Arts – Academy of Architecture

The Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) in an art school located in Amsterdam. It trains students for the national and international world of art, culture and heritage. Talented students are supported to develop their artistic identity and cultivate an innovative vision. Its Academy of Architecture maintains close contacts with the professional community in the region, with public services, commissioning parties and developers. Architecture, urbanism and landscape architecture are independent disciplines within the Academy, that are partially offered in combination. The Academy of Architecture is the only educational institute in the Netherlands that offers the Master’s programmes in an interdisciplinary manner. This combination allows the Academy to be in a unique position within the Netherlands and abroad. The Academy of Architecture is located on the central Waterlooplein in Amsterdam, in a refurbished 17th-century building complex.
