Created as the National Institute for Higher Education in Dublin in 1975, Dublin City University (DCU) is an Irish public university. It has a particularly strong research record: it is sometimes described as a research-led university, and has regularly been recorded as bringing in more research income per members of faculty, or indeed as a percentage of total income, than any other university in Ireland. Students can count on more than 140 clubs and societies representing a wide range of interests such as culture, computer games, sport, and academic interests.
