Free University of Bozen-Bolzano

The Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Unibz) is a modern private Italian university founded in 1997. It aims to offer students a multilingual, practice-oriented education that meets the demands of the local and of the European labor market. The institution puts emphasis on providing theoretically sound and practice-orientated training. A large proportion of its educational activities take place as seminars, lectures given by guest speakers or practical training and workshops. In national rankings, Unibz reaches top positions every year. In 2020, for the fourth consecutive year, the Italian research centre for social studies Censis has ranked our university as number one among small private universities with less than 5.000 students. It is also ranked among the best 20 small universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education ranking of the world’s best small universities.
