Established in 1990 in the centre of Ishikawa Science Park, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) is a young postgraduate Japanese university. It is Japan’s first postgraduate university without undergraduate faculty. The mission of JAIST is to foster leaders capable of contributing to the making of a future world by creation of science and technology through its most advanced education and research in an ideal academic environment. The university works closely with the regional community, as well as industries worldwide, by promoting collaborative research and accepting commissioned research. JAIST has been ranked 26th amongst Japanese Universities in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities and 25th in UniRank’s ranking of Japanese universities.
