Founded in 1937, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) is the biggest and oldest university of technology in Slovakia. It is considered to be the best technical university in the country: according to the Slovak higher education ranking scheme prepared by ARRA, STU has been the best university in chemicals technologies, computer and technical sciences so far in Slovakia. Other universities rankings list STU as the best technical university in Slovakia and third best in both Slovakia and Czech Republic. Its graduates are the highest-paid ones of all the university graduates in Slovakia and have the lowest unemployment rate in the country.
